Taking Care of Your Skin
Taking care of your skin will lead to healthy and glowing skin. I remember countless times I have made the mistake of going to sleep with my makeup on or not properly washing my face. It happens but don't make a habit of it!
There are many products that you can use to make your skin look healthy but your diet is what it all comes down to. It's just like exercising. You can exercise day in and day out but what you eat will determine how healthy you really are.
Did you know that drinking milk is a secret to achieving healthy looking skin? As young children we are all encouraged to drink milk to make our bones strong and healthy. Even as adults, milk remains an important part of our diet.
Milk is a great source of calcium that keeps our bones and teeth in top condition and can help take care of our skin. Calcium is found in the outer layer of our skin (the epidermis) and helps the body produce new skin cells and naturally exfoliate the old skin cells away. A lack of calcium could mean the body doesn't know when to do with the dead skin cells, which then in turn leads to skin looking dull and dry.
Did you know that one glass of milk provides over a third of the recommended calcium intake that adults need? Just drinking one glass of milk will help achieve the results you want!
To keep your skin looking healthy, you don’t just have to drink milk, you can bathe in it! Milk baths, said to be Cleopatra’s favorite beauty secret. It is believed that it intensely moisturized the skin and helped remove dead skin cells. Cleopatra was famously known for her skin care treatments in Egypt and beyond. She knew how to look younger for longer and it showed or so we are told. Her methods of skin care are still used today so they must be good!
Don't worry you don't have to bathe in milk like Cleopatra claimed to do. Now many skin care products list vitamins as key ingredients, especially vitamin A which works to help the skin rebuild new tissue, therefore bringing new skin to the surface and help skin look fresh and healthy. Vitamin A is found naturally in milk and is also known as a great natural anti-aging vitamin. Who knew milk was so important?
If you are not partial to milk (or lactose intolerant) though, Johnson and Johnson has many amazing products that help out your skin. One of my favorites is Aveeno. I have been using Aveeno for as long as I can remember. When you have sensitive skin, using fragranced products can irritate your skin. One of my most favorite products from them is the itch relief cream. It starts working within hours and heals that area within 2 days. Totally recommend it!
Now I don't recommend going out and chugging down a gallon of milk and in turn your skin will glow like New Years Eve. Like every other drink or food there are calories in it. I recommend drinking skim milk, as it only has 80 calories per serving. Drink 2 servings a day!

Note: I was asked to write this article mentioning Johnson and Johnson products. I was paid to write this article. However, my opinions are my own and I wrote this to my liking.
